The Quartel Promises “Unforgettable Show” At EP Launch

Jamlive gig for multi-genre band

INDIE/MOD band The Quartel will play Belfast’s JamLive Hall at Blackstaff on Saturday August 15.

The upcoming four-piece mod-pop group, best known for their funky basslines and their unique twist on 60’s music, will play the venue to promote their new EP, Stuck In Gear.

The Quartel caught the eye of many Belfast music fans following their performance at Féile Unplugged in 2014.

Brendy Deeds, lead guitarist said: “We’re a rock n roll band that are heavily influenced by the 1960’s…

“We aren’t afraid to experiment with different genres, we even have a punk influenced song Lady Blue.

This song is one of our more fast and jumpy songs, along with our cover of My Generation by The Who, and our original song Just A Girl. We also play a selection of slow songs including a cover of Fatboy Slim’s Praise You mixed with Kasabian’s LSF and our own songs Dream On and She’s Got Me.

“Due to our sound and mix of genres, we are a unique band like no other, that have been playing for over two years. We are a no-messing-about band and will be sure to put on an unforgettable show.

“Of course there’s going to be videos of some of the set, but videos are nothing compared to a live performance, and I encourage anyone looking for a new sounding band to come to our EP launch.”

The Quartel will be supported by Belfast band Search Party who are a lively four-piece punk rock band.

Also on the support bill are Cloak and Dagger, an indie group from Belfast who often perform as a two piece, playing acoustic sets and busking around the city centre.

The night will end with a DJ set from Eamonn Kelly on the night.

Doors 6.30pm. Tickets £5 at the door.
