STAFF at Moy Park are celebrating the success of its fund raising campaign with Cancer Fund for Children which to date has raised £7.5K for the charity.

The fundraising activity included a social media nomination campaign – #DriveAnEggChallenge – which reached over 425,000 people on Facebook, gained almost 50,000 views of video clips and 675 additional likes to the MoyParkChicken Facebook page.

As an official sponsor of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, Moy Park developed the golf-themed social media nomination campaign to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Fund for Children.

The viral campaign asked people to video themselves driving an egg instead of a golf ball and then post it on Facebook or Twitter, nominating a friend to take the challenge and making a donation to the charity.

Briege Finnegan, Brand Marketing Manager for Moy Park commented: “We are thrilled with the success of the campaign – and more importantly, delighted to work with Cancer Fund for Children to drive awareness and raise funds for its wonderful work.

“It was fantastic to see so many people engage with the challenge – from our launch on social media to activity at the Irish Open and the Balmoral Show.”

Gillian Creevy, CEO of Cancer Fund for Children said: “I would like to thank Moy Park for its incredible generosity. Cancer Fund for Children provides practical, financial and emotional support in the family home, in the community and hospital ward.

“We understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis can have on children, young people and families and rely on donations to ensure that beyond essential clinical care, family life can be supported and rebuilt. Our work is about ensuring people don’t have to face cancer alone.”
