LEADING music industry figure and previous Senior Vice President of Island Def Jam Music Group Jon Vanhala will be joined by US publisher Amanda Hale and digital music guru Bill Campbell as just a few of the expert speakers preparing for this week’s TechXplore 2015.

The event, which is set to be the biggest and best yet, will also feature Áine Kerr, Managing Editor of Storyful – the first social media news agency in the world.

Compered by BBC Panorama’s Declan Lawn, TechXplore is on a mission to inspire, with a whole range of local firms also preparing to speak and BBC The Apprentice Tweeter David Levin dropping by.

TechXplore, which aims to connect and engage local and global experts in the fields of digital technology, music, journalism, health, sport and finance, will showcase tech start-ups who took their initial ideas to fledgling businesses and outlined their ambition to succeed globally.

Event organiser and partner at MW Advocate, Carl Whyte said: “TechXplore is now Belfast’s largest home-grown technology event and this year offers an unmatched number of speakers and events including multiple opportunities to meet industry experts and investors.

“The event has the sole aim of helping and inspiring people across Belfast, the UK and Ireland to bring their tech ideas to the world.”

Event partner and director at Mills Selig Kathryn Walls added: “Building a vibrant technology start-up and business network is vital if Belfast and Northern Ireland is to compete on the global market and events like this allow people here to access global expertise.”

TechXplore will include five daytime sessions and Belfast’s first ever Tech Cabaret in the evening, showcasing a tech take on Belfast’s usual music and comedy scene, plus a bit of Street Countdown.

Attendees will gain unlimited access and potential workshops with global experts who are set to provide insightful knowledge across a range of industries.

Deirdre Hargey, Chair of the City Growth and Regeneration Committee at Belfast City Council and the event’s principal partner said: “TechXplore plays a vital part in allowing local companies to learn from and build connections with national and international experts within the tech industry. It is also significant in supporting those who work here to access global markets.”

The third TechXplore takes place on September 3 at The Life Church on Bruce Street. For more details and tickets log onto http://www.techxplore.co.
