Entrepreneurial Carrickfergus Teen Recognised By Young Enterprise

YOUNG Enterprise presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Erin Tweedie from Downshire School in Carrickfergus, for her dedication to the organisation and for representing Young Enterprise at number of events over the past year.

Erin said: “The company programme provided me with a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in aspects of business you wouldn’t learn otherwise. I believe it helped my group and I develop the skills and abilities that will make us more successful in life and work.”

In Year 13, Erin took part in the Company programme, where she was the Managing Director of the company Retro – Real Entrepreneurs Take Risks Outrageously, who came second in the Regional Finals. Since then, she has been a spokesperson for Young Enterprise at a number of events, where she has discussed the benefits of being involved in Young Enterprise.

At the Company Induction Day at Bombardier, Erin presented to new companies in the audience, giving an insight into her company, Retro, and providing advice using her personal experience.

Erin also played a key role in the East Antrim Area Board fundraising strategy, where she delivered a presentation to business groups from the local area at Mallusk Enterprise Park. She also spoke to the LEAN (Linking Entrepreneurs in Antrim and Newtownabbey) Network group at the Old Antrim Courthouse about the Company programme, taking part in trade fairs, and the development of vital skills that contribute to success.
